    Course Description:
This course is intended to develop knowledge of adult learning and hone understanding of widely used instructional design models specifically for teaching EFL. The program intends to equip the participants with skills to design and analyze professional learning resources. The students will learn the essentials of designing and developing measurable instructional programs informed by fundamental learning theories to meet a variety of learner needs. The participants will be able to design and develop online learning management systems with the use of ICT. at the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to apply the principles of instructional design following a step-by-step model from needs assessment to evaluation and build a solid understanding of the process of a learning design.

    Course Learning Outcomes:
    • CPMK 1 Students are able to identify the use of ICT applied in the development and practice of learning English and correlate it with educational principles and theories regarding approaches, strategies, methods, techniques, and learning models
    • CPMK 2 Students are able to identify the concepts and theories of planning and managing ICT-based resources in the administration of classes, schools and educational institutions for which they are responsible, and evaluate their activities comprehensively.
    • CPMK 3 Students are able to analyze the need for ICT in the scope of English language learning at every level of an educational unit in Indonesia.
    • CPMK 4 Students are able to apply educational principles and theories regarding approaches, strategies, methods, techniques, and learning models in ICT-based learning media at every level of educational units in Indonesia
    • CPMK 5 Students are able to design digital-based learning tools for online learning creatively, innovatively, and based on the results of needs analysis by applying logical, critical, systematic, and innovative thinking.

  • Students are expected to be able to:

    1. Differentiate between teacher-centered and student-centered learning strategies.
    2. Compare and contrast the advantages and limitations of ten types of learning strategies.
    3. Describe how to select technology and media that facilitate learning experiences.
    4. Discuss the types of learning environments and settings you might encounter in PK–12 schools.
    5. List the advantages and limitations of integrating free and inexpensive materials into instruction.

    • Educational technologies are increasingly commonplace and expected in formal learning environments. In addition to traditional multimedia like videos and audio, these technologies now allow for students to interact with these environments, providing much richer learning experiences. Teachers and educational institutions are demanded to facilitate the digital learning environment for students. Let's find some example of the way designing digital learning environment

    • While designing questionnaires and interview questions for need analysis, Let's discuss the learning strategies in teaching English. The strategies might be varied and have advantages also limitations. On this page, there will be 10 learning strategies explained, later in class you are expected to share the advantages and the limitation of those strategies form student's point of view.

    • There are a variety of learning strategies that address different learning contexts. The five contexts or situations most frequently implemented in educational  environments (1) face-to-face classroom instruction, (2) distance learning, (3) blended instruction, (4) independent study (structured), and (5) informal study (nonstructured)

    • With the ever-increasing costs of instructional materials, teachers should be aware of the variety of materials they may obtain for classroom use at little or no cost. The types of free and inexpensive materials available online are almost endless. Of key importance to schools with limited technology,  budgets are open source websites that offer free productivity suites (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software)

    • There are 10 common types of instructional design strategies 1)Presentation 2) Demonstration 3) Drill and Practices 4) Tutorial 5) discussion 6) Problem-Solving Learning 7) Cooperative Learning 8) Gaming 9) Simulation 10) Discovery Learning.

Let's discuss its' Advantages and Limitations for EFL Classes, and also lets discuss how ICT instructional design can support the teaching strategy!!1

    • A learning strategy is an individual's way of organizing and using a particular set of skills to learn content or accomplish other tasks more effectively and efficiently in school as well as in non-academic settings. While Learning resources are those resources that the teachers use to help learners meet the expectations for learning which are defined by the curriculum. Watch the video and report the learning strategies and resources used by teacher during your classroom observation.
